OVERVIEW
Originally created by Ballet 314 for St. Charles City-County Library District in 2019, Assemblé showcases how dance and music “assemble” to tell the story in a ballet. Follow the story of our “conductor” as we highlight the different sections of the orchestra through musical selections from classical ballet scores like Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and Coppelia. Young audience members will witness just how many elements unite to make a story come to life on stage.
Throughout the performance, audience members will participate in music and dance demonstrations, and be able to identify the 3 elements of every story (characters, setting, plot) and the 4 sections of an orchestra (woodwinds, percussion, strings, and brass).
